The whole-bean bag smelled incredible the second I opened it, and the partnership between roaster and colleague really comes through in the cup. Brewed it as a pour-over this morning and got a clean, balanced finish with no bitterness at all.
The roast level on this one hits a nice middle ground, not too dark and not sour, so it works black or with a splash of milk. The public label concept won me over too, feels like you're getting a roaster's actual house pick rather than a rebadged mystery bag.
Opened the bag this morning and the aroma alone tells you someone actually cared about the roast. The collaboration story is a nice touch, but honestly the beans speak for themselves—smooth, balanced, no bitter bite even black.
