Mokka. En cafe-klassiker. Kakao & kaffe har så meget til fælles. Fra deres vækstområder til forarbejdningstrin er disse fjerne genetiske slægtninge en oplagt kombination. Denne chokolade er lidt af en omvendt variant, hvor chokoladen indtager hovedrollen med kaffe som supplement. Med Onyx's fantastiske Monarch Espresso involveret er denne kombination himmelsk, som man kunne forvente.
I grabbed this to pair with my afternoon espresso and ended up eating the whole bar in one sitting. The mocha note comes through clearly without one flavor overpowering the other.
The coffee and cacao balance is spot on, not overly sweet, and it melts with that slow, even texture I look for in a dark bar. I've already eaten half the bar in one sitting while sipping my morning espresso, and the pairing honestly makes both taste better.
I was a little unsure about the mocha combo, but the coffee and cacao really do balance each other out nicely. The bar is a bit more brittle than I'd like, so you have to break it carefully, though the flavor is spot on for a classic espresso pairing.
