Mokka. En kaféklassiker. Kakaó og kaffe har mye til felles. Fra vekstområdene til prosesseringstrinnene er disse fjerne genetiske slektningene en åpenbar kombinasjon. Denne sjokoladen er litt omvendt, hvor sjokoladen tar scenen med kaffe som komplement. Med Onyx sin fantastiske Monarch Espresso involvert, er denne kombinasjonen himmelsk, som du forventer.
I grabbed this to pair with my afternoon espresso and ended up eating the whole bar in one sitting. The mocha note comes through clearly without one flavor overpowering the other.
The coffee and cacao balance is spot on, not overly sweet, and it melts with that slow, even texture I look for in a dark bar. I've already eaten half the bar in one sitting while sipping my morning espresso, and the pairing honestly makes both taste better.
I was a little unsure about the mocha combo, but the coffee and cacao really do balance each other out nicely. The bar is a bit more brittle than I'd like, so you have to break it carefully, though the flavor is spot on for a classic espresso pairing.
