I usually steer clear of dark roasts because they turn harsh, but this one is smooth and fully developed without any sharp edge. It's rich and heavy in the cup, and that almost total lack of acidity is exactly what I was hoping for.

The bittersweet, heavy body on this one is exactly what I want in a dark roast, and the near-total lack of acidity keeps it smooth from the first sip. Two cups in and it's already replaced my morning espresso routine.

I was worried a subscription roast would arrive stale, but this Eclipse bag was fresh and oily-dark the day it landed. Bittersweet and low-acid, exactly what I want in a morning cup — just wish the shipments came a touch more often.
