I’ve tried a lot of decafs that taste flat, but this Peru Norandino holds its own as a straight espresso—the balanced cup from those Cajamarca highlands comes through with real depth, no harshness. Pulled a double this morning and it was smooth enough to drink black, which is rare for me with decaf.

The washed processing really keeps things clean and bright, and the decaf process doesn't leave that weird sour aftertaste. It's a solid, balanced espresso for an afternoon pick-me-up without the jitters, even if the crema thinned out a bit faster than I'd like.

The highland origins come through in a really smooth cup, and the decaf process doesn't leave that weird flat aftertaste. I'd say it’s a tick above average for evening espresso, though I wish the crema lingered a bit longer.
